Редакція часопису «Проблеміст України» оголошує тематичний конкурс складання мініатюр у трьох розділах.

8 TT “PROBLEMIST UKRAINY” (The Problemist of Ukraine) – 2013 announces a tourney in three sections for miniatures presenting the below themes.

Original problems are to be sent before 1.11. 2013, to M. Chernyavskyy, P.O. Box 7270, Lviv-70, 79070 Ukraine, or by email to tschern@mail.lviv.ua

In each of the sections, the winner will then propose a theme for the next tourney and judge it. Results will be published in the journal "Problemist Ukraine and at WEB-site grandmaster V. Kopyl: http://www.chess-kopyl.com.ua/.

We will also be thankful for sending us published problems presenting the themes.

We wish you success in your creative work!

Suomen Tehtäväniekat Facebook Composing Tourney 2013

Theme: Stationary white queen
Group A for orthodox mates in 2 moves
Group B for orthodox helpmates in 2 moves

Theme clarification: One white queen has to be on the board in the initial position. It must not move during the actual play. If the white's first move is a queen promotion, the promoted queen must not move. Queen moves in set play and try play are allowed.

Send your problems to Suomen Tehtäväniekat Facebook Groupwww.facebook.com/SuomenTehtavaniekat not later than the 31th of October 2013. Send a problem as a private message by clicking the Message button and entering the problem as plain text, picture or a document file (PDF recommended). The administrators of the group act as judges of the tourney. They cannot participate.

The three best problems of each group will be published on Suomen Tehtäväniekat Facebook page, so don't miss the opportunity to get lots of visibility for your masterpiece. And please like the group, if you do not already do so. Good luck!

Teeman tarkennus: yksi valkoinen kuningatar tulee olla laudalla alkuasemassa. Se ei saa liikkua ratkaisun aikana. Jos valkoisen ensimmäinen siirto on korotus kuningattareksi, korotettu kuningatar ei saa siirtyä. Kuningatarsiirrot esipelissä ja houkutuspelissä ovat sallittuja.

Lähetä tehtäväsi Suomen Tehtäväniekkojen Facebook ryhmälle viimeistään lokakuun 31. päivä 2013. Tehtävät tulee lähettää yksityisenä viestinä klikkaamalla Viesti-painiketta ja antamalla tehtävän joko pelkkänä tekstinä, kuvana tai tiedostossa (mieluiten PDF-formaatissa). Ryhmän ylläpitäjät toimivat kilpailun tuomareina. He eivät voi osallistua kilpailuun.

Kolme parasta tehtävää kummassakin ryhmässä julkaistaan Suomen Tehtäväniekkojen Facebook-sivulla, joten käytä hyväksesi mahdollisuus saada paljon näkyvyyttä mestariteoksellesi. Ja tykkääthän ryhmästä, jos et sitä ole aikaisemmin tehnyt. Onnea laadintaan!

3rd FIDE World Cup in Composing 2013, C 01 IX 2013

3rd FIDE World Cup in Composing 2013

The International Chess Federation (FIDE), within the framework of its "Chess Composition" special project, is organising the 3rd FIDE World Cup in Composing for 2013 in eight sections.
The tournament is coordinated with the WFCC Presidium and is a part of the joint efforts by FIDE and WFCC for the popularization and development of chess composition worldwide.
The tournament sections and judges are as follows:
A.Twomovers – Judge: Vasil Dyachuk (Ukraine)
B. Threemovers – Judge: Miodrag Mladenović (Serbia)
C. Moremovers – Judge: Mikhail Marandyuk (Ukraine)
D.Endgame studies – Judge: Iuri Akobia (Georgia)
E. Helpmates – Judge: Fadil Abdurahmanović (Bosnia & Herzegovina) and Borislav Gadjanski (Serbia)
F. Selfmates – Judge: Zoran Gavrilovski (Macedonia)
G. Fairies – Judge: Petko Petkov (Bulgaria)
H.Retros and Proofgames – Judge: Silvio Baier (Germany)
In each section, only one composition by each author is acceptable and joint compositions are not allowed.
The theme is free in all sections, and any number of moves is acceptable in the h# and s# sections. In the fairies section, only computer-tested problems by one of the Alybadix, Popeye or WinChloe programs are allowed; the participants should state with which software they tested their composition.
The Director of the tournament is Dmitry Turevsky.
Entries must be sent in diagrams with complete solution and any comments by e-mail only to the director's address: dmitri.turevski@gmail.com
Participants should mention their postal address in the e-mail.
The closing date is September 1st, 2013.
The director will send all compositions to the judges on standardised anonymous diagrams by September 15th, 2013.
All judges should prepare their awards by December 1st, 2013.
The results will be published on the Internet by December 15th, 2013 and they will be declared final after two months allowed for claims of anticipation and unsoundness.
In each section, cups for 1st places, prizes, honourable mentions and commendations will be awarded, as well as certificates for the prizes signed by the President of the FIDE Mr. Kirsan Ilyumzhinov.
All participants will receive a copy of the booklet with the final awards.

API 3rd Mini-Tour Savana-Safari tourney C 31 VIII 2013

The Italian Problemist Association (API) organize the 3rd Mini-Tour called SAVANA-SAFARI.
To the tourney will be admitted every kind of problems among 2-6 moves. Every work will
have to contain one or more fairy pieces among the following, which are characteristic animals
of the African savannah:
– antelope [leaper 3,4]
– gnu [leaper 1,2] + [1,3]
– lion
– locust
– zebu [leaper 1,3] + [1,4]
– giraffe [leaper 1,4]
– zebra [leaper 2,3]
Problems are admitted with more solutions or twins, but not zeroposition and duplex.
It is not admitted any kind of fairy conditions. All problems must be computer tested (C+).
Maximum six problems for author.

Die Schwalbe 210th TT, C 21 VIII 2013

The German magazine Die Schwalbe announces its 210th Theme Tourney to mark the centenary of the distinguished composer Werner Speckmann.
This is for direct-mate moremovers using the fairy piece Empress, which combines the moves of R and S. No other fairy chess elements are allowed.
