FIDE Olympic Tournament in composing 2016
Dedicated to the 42nd World Chess Olympiad 2016 (Baku, Azerbaijan, 17-30.09.2016)

The International Chess Federation (FIDE), within the framework of its “Chess Composition” special project, and the Chess Federation of Azerbaijan are organizing a FIDE Olympic tournament in composing dedicated to the 42nd World Chess Olympiad 2016 (Baku, Azerbaijan, 17-30.09.2016).
The tournament is coordinated with the WFCC Presidium and is a part of the joint efforts by FIDE and WFCC for the popularization and development of chess composition worldwide.
The tournament comprises six sections as follows:
A. Twomovers, judge: Yakov Rossomakho (Russia)
B. Threemovers, judge: Igor Agapov (Russia)
C. Moremovers, judge: Oto Mihalčo (Slovakia)
D. Endgame studies, judge: Martin Minski (Germany)
E. Helpmates, judge: Abdelaziz Onkoud (Morocco)
F. Selfmates, judge: Gennady Kozyura (Ukraine)
In each section composers may send only one composition. Joint compositions are not allowed.
The theme is free in all sections and any number of moves is acceptable in the sections of helpmates and selfmates.
The director of the tournament is Ilham Aliev (Azerbaijan). Entries must be sent in diagrams with complete solution and any comments either by post to the address Ilham Aliev, 8 m-r, 29/18-51, Sumgayit AZ-5008, Azerbaijan or by e-mail to bestechi@mail.ru
Participants should mention their postal address in the letter or e-mail.
The schedule of the tournament is as follows:
Closing date for the submission of entries to the director: February 1st, 2016
Submission of the entries by the director to the judges on anonymous diagrams: February 15th, 2016
Preparation of the awards by the judges: May 15th, 2016
Publication of the results on the Internet: June 1st, 2016
The awards will be declared final after one month allowed for claims of anticipation and unsoundness.
In each section medals for the first to third places, prizes, honourable mentions and commendations will be awarded, as well as certificates for the prizes signed by the President of the FIDE Mr Kirsan Ilyumzhinov.
