2014 is the year of the 10th anniversary of Problemist Ukrainy.
In this connection, the editorial board of the magazine announces a composing tourney with free theme in the following sections:
Twomovers – judge Vjacheslav Pilchenko
Threemovers – judge Vasily Kryzhanivsky
Moremovers – judge Mikhail Marandiuk
Endgame studies – judge Michal Hlinka
Selfmates – judge Ivan Soroka
Helpmates – judge Aleksandr Shvichenko
Fairies – judge Juraj Brabec
In all sections except helpmates, entries are to be sent by email to gordian37@mail.ru (preferably) or to Yuri Gordian, P.O. Box 66, Odessa-26, 65026, Ukraine, before February 1, 2014.
Helpmates are to be sent to jvb579@meta.ua (preferably) or to Yuri Belokon, P.O. Box 579, Poltava, 36021, Ukraine, before February 1, 2014.
All tourneys are of the closed type: entries will be sent to the judges in anonymous form.
Awards: 1Prize in each section is an amount of $75; all prize-winners will be entitled to an annual subscription to the magazine.
The results of the JT will be published in a special edition which will be sent to all of the participants whose problems will appear in the award as well as to Ukrainian authors without any award-winning entries.
Foreign participants without any problems in the award will receive an electronic copy of the special edition.

Tourney name: "The collapse of illusions".
Section: #2 (twomovers).
Theme: In the set play, there are mates on one and the same square in response to different black moves. Key move must be made to that square (key on the set-mate-square) with changed mates.
Enlargement of thematic variations in the set play and try-play (tries) with first move on thematic square are welcomed as well as a quiet key move (without capturing of a black pawn).

The 5th ChessProblems.ca Thematic Tournament requires original chess compositions employing the Back-Home fairy condition, recently invented by Nicolas Dupont and publicized on Julia's Fairies.
Entries should be submitted to the tourney director, Nicolas Dupont, via email at tt5@chessproblems.ca. The closing date is December 31st, 2013.
